Magic Power Basics
Each brew uses up to 5 material slots. The total Magic Power of all materials determines which potions you can brew.
Going too far above a potion's minimum MP introduces higher-tier potions into the roll pool, potentially reducing your chance at the specific potion you want.
Elemental Shards don't add Magic Power — they add +50% chance for that element. Always pair Dark Shard with 99+ MP for Night Wraith.
At 43 MP, Furnace Core is the highest-value material. 3× Furnace Core (129 MP) can unlock Night Wraith tier with a Dark Shard.
Material Optimization
Don't overshoot. For Fire Arrow (45 MP), use exactly 45-52 MP worth of materials. Going to 70+ introduces Tornado into the roll, lowering your Fire Arrow chance.
Dark is the strongest element. Save Dark Shards for 99+ MP brews targeting Night Wraith or Dragon Breath. Don't waste them on low-tier brews.
Blueberry (3 MP) and Withered Mushroom (4 MP) are free from the world. Use them to pad low-level brews instead of wasting rare materials.
Three Furnace Cores (129 MP) + Dark Shard is the endgame Night Wraith recipe. Farm bosses for Furnace Cores as your top priority.
Understanding the Magic Power System
Magic Power is the core mechanic of Wizard Alchemy's brewing system. Every material has a fixed Magic Power value, and the sum of all materials in your 5 brew slots determines which potions can appear in the result. This calculator helps you find the exact combination needed for your target potion.
The key insight most players miss is that overshooting your target Magic Power reduces your success rate. If you're targeting Fire Arrow (45 MP) but your materials sum to 80 MP, you'll also qualify for Tornado (70 MP), diluting your chances. Use this calculator to find the precise range.
Elemental Shards are separate from Magic Power — they don't contribute to the MP total but add a massive +50% chance modifier for their element. The optimal endgame setup is 3× Furnace Core (129 MP total) + 1 Dark Shard for the best Night Wraith brewing odds.
