Adding the matching Elemental Shard boosts your target element chance by ~50%. Always use shards for Epic+ brews.

Minigame Matters

Competition Zone

Any potion whose MP ≤ your total can appear. That's why precision matters — 80 MP qualifies you for 11 potions, not just Frost Thorns.

🔄 Batch Brewing

For refinement (SSS), you need duplicates. Brew in batches of 10+ using the same combo to build up identical potions.

⚠️ Avoid Overshooting

If targeting Frost Thorns (80), don't use 100+ MP of materials. You'll introduce Dragon Breath (99) and Lotus Bloom (100) as competitors.

Getting the exact potion you want in Wizard Alchemy is a probability game. The brewing system rolls among all potions whose minimum Magic Power you've met. The key to success is precision — use the minimum MP for your target to minimize competitors.

This calculator finds the optimal material combination for each potion, ranked by waste (excess MP). Lower waste means fewer competing potions. Combine this with the right Elemental Shard and a perfect minigame performance for maximum success.

For endgame potions like Night Wraith (130 MP), the competition zone is smaller because few potions exist at 100+ MP. This actually makes high-tier brewing easier in some ways — 3× Furnace Core (129 MP) + 1× Blueberry (3 MP) = 132 MP with minimal waste.

Brew Success FAQ

As little as possible. 0-5 MP over the target is ideal. More than 15 over means you're qualifying for additional potions.
